ABOUT THIS APP

Playing doubles tennis on a single court with more than four players? This app helps with randomizing partners and making fair playing time for each player. Just add the names of the players and hit START PLAY and follow the auto-generated chart.

But there's a twist! The app allows entering scores after each set of tennis and automatically calculates the games won by each player on an individual basis regardless of playing partner.

In short, this app allows you to turn "doubles tennis" into a "singles tennis" mindset. The winner is the player with the highest winning percentage.

USAGE

Easy to use but not meant for tournaments or multi-court environments. Meant for casual doubles tennis on a single court with four to nine players.

• Gather your players to the tennis court and add their names to the Player Pool.
• Tick the box beside each player's name in the Player Pool to make them eligible and click Start Play.
• Check the auto-generated Games Schedule and call out the partner names (clearly marked in blue for the Next Round) and start playing.

After each round, enter the score into the small boxes and press Enter to move to the next round. Keep playing till you drop (or it rains)!

Stop whenever you wish and check the results in the Results section at the top of the app. Who has the best winning percentage?

DETAILS

• Works with four to nine players.
• Tick the boxes in any order you prefer. The first four players ticked always play in Round 1 and then the rotation begins.
• Untick and reorder the players if necessary. But after Start Play is clicked no further ordering changes can be made (except substitutions - see below).
• If the same players often gather then the Save List and Load Saved List buttons will be handy.
• If things go awry just click Start Again and start all over. No worries, mate.
• Rounds (tennis sets) can be of any length up to 9 games. Enter the scores accordingly. The authors usually play four game sets with scores such as 2-2, 3-1, 4-0, etc., but the app keeps tabs on Wins/Games/Percentage for each player correctly regardless of set length.
• Initially the Game Schedule shows 10 rounds, usually enough for about two hours of play. After Round 10 is complete a further set of 10 rounds becomes available.
• To fix scoring errors, just click in the score entry blocks even for past rounds and make changes.
• Click a name in the Results section at any time to make name/spelling changes.
• What happens when a player gets hurt, tired, or goes home early or arrives late? Substitutions can be made by clicking on a name in the Next Round section. The app will continue to calculate Wins/Games/Percentage correctly regardless of substitutions even if some players end up with more games played than others.
• Although taking screenshots is a great way to save your results, clicking Print Results will download a PDF with all data including Game Schedule and scores.
